Middle Sea chairman receives exceptional service award

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has presented Mario C. Grech, chairman and CEO of the Middle Sea Group, with its prestigious Life Vice- President exceptional service award.

This is only the second time that the award has been made. It was presented to Mario C. Grech in recognition of his exceptional promotion of the Malta insurance industry locally and internationally and his total support since 1982 towards the development of insurance education and training. During this time he has given extensive service to the CII.

The presentation was made in front of delegates from throughout the world attending the CII's Annual Conference held recently at the Harrogate International Centre in England. Jenni Margarson, on behalf of Richard Harvey, group chief executive of Norwich Union, who are sponsoring the awards presented Mr Grech with the award and a medal and silver salver.

Allen Prior, a CII vice- president and chairman of the awards committee said, "The CII benefits from outstanding service from many of its members in local institutes and in a national or international context. These awards allow us to recognise the significance of such service."
