MaltaNET joins Tucows Network - High speed Internet downloads for local users

MaltaNET has recently joined part of the world's largest network of shareware and Internet software download providers, The Tucows Network. By joining this network, MaltaNET now offers its subscribers local access to high speed servers for fast download of a whole range of software. The software categories include games, Internet utilities, Linux software, audio clients, communication packages, e-mail tools, multimedia utilities, security tools, and entertainment. Latest versions of Netscape Communicator and Microsoft Explorer are also available for quick download.

Ruben Azzopardi, MaltaNET's technical operations manager stated that: "This new service will provide our subscribers with better quality downloads on a vast range of software. It will save them a lot of time on downloading software, and leave more international bandwidth available for browsing. MaltaNET has recently also introduced state of the art caching servers, which make commonly accessed Internet sites available locally. With the introduction of high speed local access through ISDN and ADSL by Maltacom being introduced over the next weeks, making content available locally will enable subscribers to get the full benefit of their higher bandwidth connections."
