Changes at Melita Cable and GasanMamo Insurance

by Anthony Manduca

Melita Cable plc yesterday announced a management restructure. Joe Gasan, the company's chairman, is foreseeing exciting days ahead for the information and communications technology sector. Mr Gasan is confident that this new structure will ensure that the company continues to function at peak effectiveness and to meet the interesting opportunities which lie ahead.

The new structure confirms Frank S. Leiter as Melita's chief executive officer with added emphasis on strategic development and creates two key positions - finance director and operations director.

The appointees for these new positions are P. Danny Rosso and Joseph E. Grech. Mr Rosso was previously financial controller at Melita and has recently been an independent financial consultant. Mr Grech, who also sits on the management board of the Gasan Group of Companies, moves to Melita Cable plc from his position as managing director of GasanMamo Insurance Agency Ltd. Both appointees bring to the Melita management team extensive finance and operating experience.

Mr Gasan, speaking on behalf of GasanMamo Insurance Agency, announced changes in the roles of the directors of the board of that company as a result of Mr Grech's new executive appointment at Melita Cable.

Mr J.A. Gasan becomes chairman, while A.P. Mamo takes on the role of managing director. J.E. Grech will retain his directorship on the GasanMamo board. The other board member is J.J. Mamo, the company's sales and marketing director. The Malta Business Weekly Homepage
