Di-ve.com attracts more than 20,000 visits every week

www.di-ve.com, Malta's first internet portal is attracting more than 20,000 visits per week.

The portal was launched on 8 February and has in the few weeks on-line, gained a very positive response from the thousands of Maltese internet users.

The portal offers a wide range of interesting on-line magazines catering for different interests including news, sports, business, music, cinema and motoring. www.di-ve.com is also streaming live events to its users.

Among the most popular live events were the results of local council elections, as well as the first live internet concert in Malta given by Freddie Portelli. The response was so overwhelming that all di-ve servers were overloaded for the first 15 minutes of the concert.

Kurt Sansone, from di-ve.com's editorial team, noted that "over the last weeks, we have had a lot of feedback from our audience and we have already made some changes to di-ve.com to reflect some of these suggestions".

It is obvious that there is a high demand for local content on the internet, and it is our intention to continue to add to the diversity of this, over the coming weeks," Mr Sansone said.

Speaking on the success of the first few weeks, Keith Fearne CEO of Terranet Ltd, operators of di-ve.com, said that "the overwhelming response we got was what we expected, as there was nothing similar being offered to the Maltese internet audience. With 20,000 visits a week the commercial potential of www.di-ve.com is already very interesting and we are getting a lot of interest from marketing agencies who are starting to realise the potential of this powerful new medium."
