
Free IT diploma course for women returning to job market
Women who intend to return to the job market have an excellent opportunity of qualifying themselves for a job in the IT industry as the MDC and the ETC are launching the National Computing Centre (NCC) International Diploma Computer Studies Course. The course, organised by the Malta Information Technology and Training Services (MITTS) Ltd, will be offered on a full and part time bases in both Malta and Gozo as well. The course, which costs Lm800, is being offered free of charge.
The lectures for the full time courses are held twice a week from 9am to 4pm while the lectures for the part time courses will be held twice a week from 6 to 8pm.
The course outline is as follows:
Basic computing principles
Principles of computer programming
Modelling for computing with mathematics
Human communication and information systems
Business systems development
Computerised accounting
Successful candidates can take up jobs as IT specialists in software development and analysis. Applicants must be 16 years or over and may also include school leavers, persons seeking an alternative job and others already working in an IT environment who wish to upgrade their skills.
