New co-operatives possible in public sector

A number of meetings were held recently between directors of various government departments and officials of the co-operatives board in view of the possibility of setting up new co-operatives in the public sector.

During the meetings, the directors were briefed on the aims and functions of co-operatives, in the light of the potential of certain departments being transformed into co-operatives.

The meetings were addressed by the President of the co-operatives board, Godfrey Baldacchino and Philip von Brockdorff, SDO director.
