Twenty-three Maltese MBAs graduate from Henley through the Malta associate

On 13 May, 23 Maltese graduates were awarded the degree of Masters in Business Administration (MBA) after completing a course of study with Henley Management College through the Malta Associate.

Henley Management College is the oldest business school in Europe and one of the largest. Every year 6,000 managers from as many as l00 different countries study for a Henley MBA.

Today the college is a global force in the MBA market with its large scale distance learning programmes currently running in 22 countries through a variety of local partners.

The partner organisation maybe Henley subsidiaries, as in Hong Kong and Singapore, or other management development organisations and business schools such as in Germany and Malta.

Henley's Diploma and MBA students now have access to the e-library and e-learning facilities provided through Henley's World Wide Web (http://www.henleymc.ac.uk) to support them in their studies.

The e-library gives access to the PowerGen Library facilities and a host of other information sources - from Henley publications to external commercial databases.

e-learning provides access to Henley's programme support areas directly via a web browser. This area of Henley's web site provides subject discussion forums where programme members can share ideas and experiences with other participants, and undertake activities that will help them clarify understanding of various aspects of the programme content.

Locally students are given extensive support for assignments, projects, examinations and dissertations. Participants can start the programme at any time.

Non-degree holders have special access through the Henley Diploma or the Executive Certificate. Each year Henley graduates who achieve exceptionally high academic standards throughout the MBA programme are awarded the Henley prize.

This year, excluding the UK students, there were over 300 MBA graduates worldwide, six of these were awarded the Henley prize in this year's graduation. Out of these six Henley prize winners, two came from Malta.

These were Engineer Emanuel Darmanin from MITTS and Engineer Stephen Scerri from Maltcom. Besides these 23 MBA graduates, two other Maltese executives obtained a Doctorate - Alexander Cassar, managing director of Prism Consultancy obtained the Doctorate in Business Administration DBA and James Dimech Debono of Henley Management College and Earnest Young obtained the Ph.D.
