Oracle Casino hosts 350,000 guests in two years of operation

During its first two years of operation, the Oracle Casino has hosted over 350,000 guests from 115 different countries and paid out over Lm2.5m in prizes from its slot machines alone. This underlines the huge success of the Oracle Casino as an entertainment destination for tourists and Maltese alike. August proved to be a record month for overseas guests visiting the Oracle with strong representation from Italy and specifically Sicily. "We realise how important overseas clients are to our business and have developed a strong marketing campaign to attract this business to the casino," Julie Smelser, Oracle Casino director, said on the second anniversary of the operation of the Casino.

"At the Oracle, the past two years have been extremely busy and eventful. On the local front we have extended the premises to include a new room, The Salon Privé, which is an exclusive gaming area for distinguished guests who request private gaming facilities and increased the number of tables to 21.

"The Salon Privé has also provided the perfect venue for the organisation of a number of tournaments including the recent Punto Banco Tournament which saw the winner getting a prize fund of US$10,000. Craps and Chemin de Fer have been introduced to give the Casino a variety of games to suit the most discerning of patrons. On the overseas front we have also embarked on a number of marketing initiatives in Palermo, Catania and Milan," Ms Smelser said.

The jewel in the crown is the Delphi at the Oracle Casino. Speaking about the success of the restaurant, Ms Smelser said: "It has also been an extremely busy two years for our restaurant, the Delphi Brasserie, which has catered for over 50,000 diners. Due to the popularity of this dining destination, we are now introducing lunches on Saturdays and Sundays and a late night breakfast. Our patrons also enjoy the variety of our themed nights such as Thai night, Mexican night, Australian night, set menus and our latest shell fish extravaganza."
