Local TV programmes streamed on www.di-ve.com

www.di-ve.com has started streaming live local television programmes over the internet. Last Friday, Xarabank was the first programme to be streamed using IP technology, but other programmes will follow and discussions are underway for other productions, including Peter Busuttil’s Bongu Sinjura Borg, Marie Briguglio’s Viva Malta and TVM’s Tista’ Tkun Int to be streamed on the Internet.
“di-ve is offering local TV producers the opportunity to stream their
programmes over the Internet thus offering Maltese living overseas as well as local internet users, the possibility of watching the programmes on their PCs.
“Information about the programmes is also available to our audience, through write-ups on www.di-ve.com submitted by the producers themselves. Furthermore, forums and chat rooms for each programme ensure that viewers can interact and post their views,” Kurt Sansone, from di-ve’s editorial team, said.
Commenting about the quality of the video stream, Keith Fearne, CEO of Terranet said “the quality of the video stream depends on the user’s connection to our servers. maltaNET subscribers using ADSL broadband connections can have up to TV quality video streams. Other users will receive a stream depending on their ISP’s connection to our servers. All over Europe content providers are using ADSL techno-logy to provide interactive video streaming services and at di-ve we intend to continue to be the leading local portal offering on demand and live streams”.
www.di-ve.com is operated by Terranet Ltd, a subsidiary of Maltacom plc, and may be contacted on tel: 489600 or editorial@di-ve.com.
