Employment law workshop

Deloitte & Touche in conjunction with Micallef Advocates is organising a training workshop on Employment Law targeted specifically at line managers to support them in their management of individuals or teams. This workshop will take place on Tuesday 14 November from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
Up-to-date and practical, this workshop will demystify a complex subject and increase the confidence of those who deal with employment law in their working lives. The structure of this programme has been developed to create a basic understanding of the potential pitfalls and sensitivities in dealing with staff.
It focuses on preventing costly tribunals and ensuring that healthy working relationships are maintained. A basic knowledge of employment law is critical in ensuring that employers are operating with confidence to best practice standards.
This workshop covers the salient features of local employment law as well as the significance of future EU membership impacting on this area of business management. It will also cover conditions of employment, health and safety issues, dismissals, redundancies and employment contracts.
The workshop will be principally be conducted by Dr Romina Bartolo from Micallef Advocates Law firm. Dr Bartolo graduated in law from the University of Malta in 1997 and subsequently specialised in European Law and obtained a Magister Juris in EU Law. Presently she practices labour law and she is editor for a publication being issued by the UHM regarding the European Union.
The cost per participant is Lm 50+VAT. Should you require any further details you may wish to contact Krista Schembri on 335323 or e-mail kschembri@deloitte.com.mt.
