Maltese company leads
the way at Insead conference
At the seconde.forum@insead in Singapore, the representative
of a local company led a discussion about the implications of
the upcoming wireless age.
Andreas W. Gerdes, CEO of the Malta-based, global e-mobile business
builder, iWORLD Group, was invited to form part of the panel
that explored the subject, M-Commerce: what content and application
to generate traffic and profits.
Together with representatives from Hewlitt Packard, Scient,
first e-Asia, Cap Gemini and Sonera Zed, Mr Gerdes examined
and discussed the scenarios, capabilities and resources needed
for future wireless service providers to achieve long-term profitability.
The Forum Session was attended by some 300 people from the fields
of Internet, telecommunications, IT and computer businesses,
as well as by a large number of Insead professors and students.
Insead Business School ranks among the top 10 business schools
outside the US. Offering students an intensive, 12-month, MBA
course among other things, Insead is based in Fontainbleu, France
and has recently opened a second campus in Singapore.
E-forum@insead is to become a twice-yearly event, held alternatively
in France and Singapore.
Mr Gerdes said the presence of Maltese companies at global events
of this sort makes a difference to our international profile.
With high-ranking representatives of the worlds largest
multi-national corporations present, iWORLD Groups decision
to make Malta its home-base receives a lot of attention and
stimulates positive interest.
Following a discussion at Insead, iWORLD Group is very
pleased with the strong interest Insead Management showed in
hosting iDeasTank, a member of the iWORLD Group, in Singapore.
This has been envisaged since the inception of iWORLD Group,
and is only the first step in our progress towards comprehensive
globality, through which we intend to extend our presence out
of Europe to Asia and the US within 24 months, Mr Gerdes
said.
