The Plaza Shopping Centre celebrated its 7th anniversary on 3 December. The Centre’s extension, (consisting of four floors of retail and five floors of office space), completed last year was leased on plan. Seven years after opening, The Plaza Shopping Centre has acquired a reputation, which is synonymous with quality, convenience, choice and value.
The Plaza has managed to attract the best selection of international brands under one roof in Malta and has maintained its position as Malta’s Leader in Quality Retailing. New additions for this Christmas include Agenda Bookshop, Go Mobile and Splendor Giftware. The Plaza also welcomes another international fashion franchise – Promod, which is to open in January next year.
Julian P. Zammit, managing director and CEO of Plaza Centres plc said: “Location is the most important factor in the retail industry and The Plaza is the centre in the centre of the largest concentration of leading retailers on the island. This gives us strategic advantage not only due to the strength of the shopping centre itself, but also due to the strength of the surrounding outlets and attractions in the central Sliema area.”
Asked about the company’s future plans, Mr Zammit said: “Plaza Centres plc is a dynamic company with a strong equity base and is geared up for growth. There has been interest from a Turkish Consortium who are keen in appointing Plaza Centres plc as their consultants and eventually also offering Plaza Centres plc the opportunity of getting involved in the management of one of the largest shopping malls currently being built in Turkey. Due to the scale of the project, we have teamed-up with Chapman Taylor, Europe’s largest architectural firm specialising in retail and leisure projects to pursue this opportunity further.”
