Valletta Investment Bank Ltd surrenders licence

The Central Bank of Malta has announced that Valletta Investment Bank Ltd (VIB) has surrendered its licence issued in terms of the Financial Institutions Act 1994 at its own request.
While confirming that this development did not arise as a result of any regulatory or supervisory measures, the Central Bank would like to advise the public that the
business activities previously undertaken by this institution have been taken over by Bank of Valletta plc pursuant to a merger that came into effect on 6 January 2001. In terms of the Banking Act 1994, Bank of Valletta plc is already licensed to carry out these business activities.
