Double taxation agreement

A double taxation agreement has been signed between Malta and Portugal. The agreement was signed by Foreign Minister Joe Borg and his Portuguese counterpart Jaime Gama in Portugal.
The ministerial meeting in the Portuguese capital was aimed at re-launching the 5+5 Dialogue – a regional forum comprising western Mediterranean countries, namely Algeria, France, Italy, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Portugal, Spain and Tunisia.
It was initially launched in 1990 but had not met since 1991 due to various situations prevailing at the time in the Mediterranean.
