Verheugen arrives in Malta

The European Commissioner for Enlargement, Guenther Verheugen, arrived in Malta last night on an official visit.
During his two-day stay, he will be meeting Foreign Minister Joe Borg, the President and the leader of the opposition.
Mr Verheugen will also deliver a public lecture at the University this evening at 6pm. He will focus on the expansion of the EU to the east and south of Europe.
The talk will be given in the Erin Serracino Inglott Hall. Although attendance is free, advance booking is advised through the Malta-EU Information Centre on tel: 25909192.
