Nearly 40,000 Go Mobile subscribers

Go Mobile has sold in excess of 38,000 lines and expects to reach the 40,000 figure sometime next week.
“We are delighted by our progress as we have been consistently reaching ambitious targets well ahead of schedule, and sometimes even exceeding our own expectations. The company has not only increased its customer base by an average of more than a 1,000 subscribers per week throughout the first quarter, but it has also been registering a steady growth of over 30 per cent per month in mobile telephony traffic,” said Prof. Juanito Camilleri, chief executive officer, Go Mobile.
Go Mobile is continuously strengthening its roaming service and is about to add another six countries to bring the list of roaming partners to no fewer than 30 operators in Europe and further afield. Go Mobile is the official telecommunications provider of the Malta Song Festivals Committee and of Fabrizio Faniello, who will be using the company’s service during the Eurovision Song Festival being held in Denmark.
Go Mobile’s international roaming service is available in Denmark as well as the rest of Europe.
The group is sponsoring the Malta Song Festivals Committee through a Lm5,000 grant.
Go Mobile is also working to find a convenient way to give roaming facilities to its prepaid subscribers. Technically, it is possible for pre-paid subscribers who wish to roam while on holiday to temporarily convert their status to post-paid for the duration of their trip and to revert back to pre-paid on their return home. Seeing that the summer months are approaching, Go Mobile is exploring ways of streamlining this process for the convenience of its pre-paid subscribers.
Maurice Zarb Adami, the Maltacom group chairman, reminded all subscribers using telephony services that in the months to come, they can expect their Maltacom as well as Vodafone numbers to change in conformance with the new national numbering plan.
“With our range of voice and data services, we are confident that we will continue to attract subscribers from different walks of life: the casual user for whom mobile communication services are an indispensable means of running their business,” Prof. Camilleri said.
