Weekend events at Bay Street

This weekend Bay Street is expected to turn into a hub of activity with a number of activities being organised for Eurovision night and Mother’s Day. The activities are expected to appeal to a wide audience including youngsters and the older generation.
For the Eurovision night, the Bay Street management will be setting up a big screen where visitors can support Fabrizio Faniello’s performance at this prestigious contest, while at the same time enjoying plenty of food and drink prepared for this occasion. Faniello fans will also be able to send a message of support to the protagonist and the individual with the best message can win a prize, courtesy of Vodafone. Other prizes will be given to those guessing Malta’s placing in this contest, as well as the overall winner. The Eurovision Night is being sponsored by Vodafone.
On Sunday evening the Bay Street Theatre will be the venue for a Mother’s Day show entitled Joy. This will consist of a concert by the group Plunge, which is composed of Mark Attard on keyboards, Fabio Giorgio on drums, Edward Ellul on bass and Mario Ellul and Marvic Lewis on vocals.
The group will be playing a varied repertoire of sentimental songs from the 1960s and 1990s. All mothers will also be presented with a red carnation by resident florist Therese Brewer. For those who really want to make an evening out of this special day can also choose to dine at the Da Giorgio restaurant after the show.
