HSBC rewards employees’ big ideas

Robert Magro of HSBC Life Assurance (Malta) Limited is the latest winner of the HSBC Bright Ideas Group (B.i.g.) Award. This award scheme was introduced by HSBC to encourage staff to submit innovative ideas and instil a culture that encourages initiative.
Mr Magro won a weekend break for two to a destination of his choice in Europe for writing a programme which works out insurance premiums.
HSBC Bank’s chief operating officer, Jeremy Hunt, who presented the prize to Mr Magro, said: “HSBC is very satisfied that this excellent programme has been generated from within our workforce. This has led to improvements in the way the bank conducts its day to day business. Over the coming months, HSBC will continue to encourage all its employees to submit their ideas so that the bank can continue to enhance customer service.”
In the first quarter of this year, approximately 60 suggestions were submitted by HSBC staff, many of which have already been implemented.
Any HSBC employee who submits a good suggestion is rewarded while the best idea in every quarter will win them a weekend break to any destination in Europe.
