New general manager at Bay Street
Robert Desira Buttigieg has recently been appointed general
manager of the Bay Street Tourist Complex in St Julians. Mr
Desira Buttigieg has a wealth of experience in similar posts,
and his appointment at Bay Street is expec-ted to help consolidate
the success of this complex, which today has established itself
as one of the leading entertainment destinations in Malta.
In his new post, Mr Desira Buttigieg will be responsible for
the day to day running of the complex, as well as help to streamline
operations and create a synergy between the different operators
in the complex including the hotel, retail, entertainment and
various food and beverage operators. Other key areas which will
fall under
Mr Desira Buttigieg’s responsibility include, business
development, customer service and identification of new areas
of operation.
Speaking about his new appointment at Bay Street, Mr Desira
Buttigieg said that “to hold the post of general manager
of such a diverse complex is a great personal challenge. However,
with the backing of a strong management team and a clear strategy
for the future, the objectives set out in our business plan
will definitely be reached.”
Prior to his post at Bay Street, Mr Desira Buttigieg has held
several posts in the banking sector. He has also held managerial
posts at General Soft Drinks Co. Ltd, bottlers and distributors
of Coca-Cola products; AX Holdings; Thomas Cook Financial Services;
and the Guard and Warden Service House Ltd.
