Celebrate Small Business and Economic Development Weeks with us! April 29 kicks off Small Business Week and the very next week starts Economic Development week (May 6). The Chamber partners with York County Development Corporation (YCDC) during these two weeks collaborating our efforts helps us to bring strong content to all our members and the community.

Tuesday, April 30, join us at 8:30 a.m. for Coffee and Community Updates at McLean Beef as community leaders along with YCDC and the Chamber team share updates. No Registration required. Coffee will be provided.

On Thursday, May 2, take part in the Downtown Revitalization Tours (Self-guided). Stop by the chamber for a listing of all downtown revitalization projects. Take a tour of the downtown and take note of all businesses that have been updated with this project. We will have a booklet highlighting the DTR projects since 2016 and on May 2, we are encouraging residents to take a self-guided tour. Then finish up at Kilgore Memorial Library with an event hosted by York Young Professionals.

On May 2 at 5:30 p.m. join us at Kilgore Memorial Library for Econ by the Pint. With the help of YCDC and the Chamber, York Young Professionals will host guests from NCEE and the Craft Brewers Guild regarding the positive impact of spending local. Early-bird registration now open on our website. They will be hosting an econ comedy hour with entertainment, snacks, drinks, and prizes (this is a 21+ event).

Grow Nebraska will be presenting our May 7 Lunch and Learn (11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) at York’s Holthus Convention Center. The topic will be Crafting Compelling Content & Social Media Strategies. We will delve into the art of crafting content that captivates your audience. Registration is now open on our website.

Finally, on Thursday, May 9, Nebraska Public Power District will host Facility Tours beginning at 3:30 p.m. We will start with refreshments and a presentation, followed by touring their building, including their top-notch training facility. Please register in advance on our website for this event.

The York Young Professionals (YP) have been diligently implementing the outcomes of their strategic planning from the beginning of the year, resulting in a schedule filled with opportunities for professional development, social networking, and community engagement.

One of the series they have is “Lattes with Leaders”. This event provides members with the chance to engage in meaningful conversations with community leaders and business professionals. The upcoming session with Mitch Bartholomew on May 14 promises to shed light on the future of YPS, offering valuable insights for young professionals. The “Adulting Series” lunch and learn sessions aim to equip members with essential knowledge on various tasks and local organizations. On May 23, attendees can delve into the workings of Mosaic, gaining a deeper understanding of it’s impact in the local area. In the next session, late summer, a panel of professionals will share insights on home maintenance and repair, providing practical advice for YPs.

Exciting news awaits as YP plans to reintroduce the York Summer Games in a revamped format known as Yorklympics, promising a series of fun summer activities!
