Italy’s GDP grew by 0.2% in 4th quarter of 2023 – Istat – Business –


Italy’s calendar-adjusted and
seasonally adjusted gross domestic product (GDP) increased by
0.2% in the fourth quarter of 2023 compared to the previous
three months and by 0.6% with respect to the equivalent period
in 2022, Istat said on Tuesday.

The quarter-on-quarter figure was the same as that the national
statistics agency gave in its preliminary estimate at the end of
January, but the year-on-year figure was revised up from 0.5%.

Istat said the carry-over annual GDP growth for 2024 is 0.2%, up
from 0.1% in the preliminary estimates.

Last week the agency said Italy’s GDP for 2023 as a whole grew
by 0.9% with respect to the previous year, up from the growth
figure of 0.7% given in its end-of-January estimates and above
the 0.8% given by the government in its Nadef economic
